Abby Thorne

Abby Thorne is an experienced solicitor with a Master of Laws (Applied Laws), majoring in Family Law and Wills and Estates. Abby is based in Newcastle and travels to Forster regularly to service clients in the Forster/Taree area. 

 

Abby has a proven track record in handling complex legal matters, including family law, parenting disputes, property settlements, wills and estate planning, family provision claims, criminal law, civil litigation, NCAT appearances, and more.

With a deep-seated interest in complex legal matters and court-based advocacy, Abby excels in managing intricate family law issues. She provides practical and effective advice in all family law matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes, divorce, child support, contravention, recovery, and relocation proceedings. Abby's expertise extends to advising clients in matters involving corporate entities, and she has significant experience in high-risk children's proceedings, including urgent recovery, domestic violence, abuse, and cases on the Evatt list.

Abby also has substantial criminal law experience, covering areas such as traffic and drink driving offences, licensing appeals, AVO (ADVO and APVO), assault, and drug-related matters.​

Abby's notable achievements include appearing in the Family Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of NSW. She consistently exceeds client expectations through mediation, negotiation, and litigation.

Outside of work, Abby is an avid equestrian, and most weekends you will find her at a horse competition showjumping, or fixing fences on the farm.
